Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is a American TV chef and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares straightforward and simple cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the most prestigious eateries in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy, and battled in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell, who grew up in New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled following her graduation with an English degree as well as a communications diploma from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great adventure. I could not learn or do enough. Following graduation at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, chef Burrell spent an entire year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. The chef gained an appreciation of Italian food and culture during her stay in Italy and this has affected her cooking style. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of struggling children. Burrell is also a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate where she has a mission to raise awareness for young diabetics. In her capacity as a speaker, Burrell travels across the nation to talk about her love of food and her culinary career. Anne always felt fortunate that she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
