Alicia Machado was born Yoseph Alicia Machado in Maracay Venezuela on 6 December 1976. Alicia has a mixed background. Her dad was Spanish as was her mother Cuban. The actress is well-known in television shows and beauty pageants. Machado's meteoric rise to fame began when she was crowned Miss Venezuela in 1995 at the age of 19 which was the name of her state Yaracuy. Machado was crowned Miss Universe 1996 one year following her naming Miss Venezuela, becoming an unprecedented fourth Venezuelan winner of the title. In her time being Miss Universe, however, was a source of controversy as well as criticism from the media because of her weight gain during her tenure. Donald Trump, who owned the Miss Universe Organization at the moment, publicly mocked her for her weight gain, even calling her "Miss Piggy" as well as making her do exercises during the media spotlight.
